Lock up your children and hide your wives (or husbands)!, it’s an original ‘70s-era Travis Bean! With its solid aluminum neck and beautifully figured Hawaiian Koa wood body, the guitar offers an appealing blend of high tech heft and earthy warmth. From refined to raunchy, the pickups are voiced to provide maximum versatility and sustain. You can convincingly do everything from nasty Keef bite to smooth and savory Jerry Garcia slurs — and cover a lot of territory in between. Paired with a quality tube amp, the guitar sustains beautifully, yielding creamy Santana-esque sizzle. The neck is slim and fast, with unhampered high-register access. It has just been refretted by Steve from Aardvark with medium wire. Solid koa body has some dings and superficial surface scars, but is in overall good condition. The bridge is a replacement assembled by our very own Steve, who is referred to in some quarters as McGyver—for reasons that will be abundantly clear when you first experience the resourcefulness and quality of his work. The knobs were on the guitar when we bought it, but may be later replacements. Hey—don’t just be the first guy or gal on the block to add a Bean to your tonal arsenal—be the only one! And you can buy this very impressive guitar at a price that won’t force you to take out a second mortgage. Includes non-original quality molded case with original typewritten instruction sheet and warranty postcard. SOLD!
