Everybody who is been around Aardvark Central for any length of time is aware of how much we like Guild’s classic models, the affordable virtues of which we extol ad nauseam. Without further ado, we give you this exemplary D-25. As the photos indicate, the arched mahogany back, solid mahogany sides, and solid spruce top are all in excellent condition, with very little in the way of playwear. What distinguishes this model from the D-25s we more frequently see and offer is the subtle, sensual cutaway, which is relatively uncommon and allows unfettered access to the upper register. No cracks, repairs, buckle rash, fretwear or fingerboard dings. Heck, even the case is in great shape, with only one small spot on the top where the tolex has been dinged. Original case candy and key are still in the case pocket. The sound is typical Guild—big, bold, complex, and imbued with lots of the pleasing, punchy mid-range frequencies that are practically the company's sonic signature. Sold!
