If you love Stratocasters but don’t want to fiddle or whammy with a tremolo bar, you might want to try a hardtail. There’s no messing with the tuning problems a floating bridge can cause and in the best case scenario a pound of weight is shed. This guitar is a fine blend of great Fender parts: it has an alder sunburst body and pickup assembly from a Robert Cray Stratocaster. The neck and neckplate come from a Fender Classic Player Stratocaster; this neck is sought-after as it combines a vintage look and feel with a flatter 12” fingerboard radius, medium jumbo frets, and C back contour. The tuners have been upgraded to a Gotoh Kluson staggered set, as used on the Fender Eric Johnson and John Suhr guitars (with these tuners a string tree isn’t needed, although one will be provided). A bridge with slightly narrower string spacing replaces the Cray model. A Fralin baseplate has been added to the bridge pickup for a little extra girth. This guitar has a professional set up and is exceptionally light; it plays great and dials in the classic sunburst/rosewood neck Strat tones. It has no fret wear and is in excellent condition save for one ding on the bottom edge of the body… the good news is that it’s in the spot you’ll see the least. Comes with a new Levy’s gig bag with music store logo.
