With each passing day, Harmony guitars are becoming more collectible. Tone connoisseurs are drawn to their unrefined, garage-band-approved tones, while the budget-conscious among us love them because for the moment at least, they’re still affordable (but don’t wait too long; Bobkat prices are already starting to climb). This particular example, in a bright, unfaded classic two-tone yellow-to-black sunburst, sports two of the acclaimed gold foil DeArmonds and a stop tailpiece, to facilitate double-stop bends. In excellent condition for its age, this guitar sports a straight neck, low action and trouble-free electronics. The handle on the original grey chipboard case was reinforced at some point with a strip of sheet metal, at the troublesome location where handles typically break. That somebody long ago went to that much effort is kinda cool in and of itself. Buy this and you’ll find yourself oddly compelled to belt out proto-punk classics. Anybody up for a double dose of “Dirty Water” and “Good Lovin’?” 8.5/10. SOLD! Thank you Danielle.
