We were fortunate enough to obtain a pair of darned cool Supro Supreme lap steels (along with a matching Supro amp) from an elderly rancher. We believe this one dates to ’46 or early ’47, back in the era when lap steels were an essential component of every Western swing and honky tonk outfit. Original built-in cloth-covered cord and the piece de resistance—the coveted “Ry Cooder” model sandwich pickup that produces tone like no other pickup (don’t even think of buying this to part it out!). The potentiometers were frozen when we picked this up, and have been replaced. The very cool volume and tone knobs are from a donor Harmony Rocket—they look great with the mother-of-toilet-seat covering. Ships in the original chipboard case, which is still functional but probably not sturdy enough for frequent gig travel. Sold!
