Martin is justifiably known for its rosewood guitars, but the company also has a long history of building mahogany instruments. Woody Guthrie, for example, used to go out ramblin’ with an all-mahogany Martin slung over his back. We regularly recommend the D-15 to customers who are seeking an affordable, all solid-wood Martin. This particular example boasts a factory undersaddle Fishman pickup that captures all the glorious clarity and presence for which Martin guitars are renowned. Manufactured from Honduran mahogany, which many (ourselves included) find tonally superior to the African Sapele that Martin has begun using on this model in recent years. Two structurally sound cleated cracks and a bit of overall body wear, otherwise in very good condition. With original TKL-manufactured Martin hardshell case. 8/10. SOLD
