Here for your consideration is a ‘78 Ibanez ‘59er Deluxe with a figured maple top in a dark cherry sunburst. This guitar is featherweight compared to many of the Norlin-era Gibsons that inspired it and sounds great for molten riffs, searing leads and 1970s-approved boogie chord progressions. The bolt-on neck lends stability and a certain Fender-like quality to the tone. Shredmeister Paul Gilbert loves these Ibanez “lawsuit” models. Be the first kid on your block to be seen on-stage with one and you can tell everybody that you were an early adopter rather than a dedicated follower of fashion. Pickguard missing, replacement pickup selector ring (not pictured) in place, and minor cosmetic top repair (see pic). Else all original in a presumably original, period-correct ‘70s-era coffin-style Ibanez case. SOLD!
