The electric guitar has evolved in many specific ways, yet when you look at the big picture -- the most potent basic designs – Stratocasters, Telecasters, etc., have survived with only minor and occasional refinements. Some folks craft “partscasters” in order to satisfy their desire for bigger frets or hotter pickups. Others, such as John Suhr (http://www.suhrguitars.com/aboutJS.aspx), rethink basic components and construction using the newest technology. This butterscotch and bakelite beauty goes easily from jazz to twang and has the silent single coil (SSC) system built in, so you get pure single coil sound with no hum. It has the belly and heel contours in back for comfort, and a 1/8th inch radius in front for a vintage look. It’s lightweight at 7¼ pounds. The neck features a 16” fingerboard radius, heavy frets, and an even C medium neck for low and even action all the way up the neck: a great set-up and an amazing-sounding guitar. There are three small indents at the very end of the headstock, but beyond that, no fret wear or other marks. Comes with a mint G&G case, as well as original documents and tools. This Classic T is a great example of a Telecaster that combines tradition with boutique quality and playability. Retail on this guitar is: $4,330.00. In other words, this is a great buy on a highly refined and very cool instrument.
