If you’ve been lamenting how hard it is to find a high-quality solid-wood dreadnought for under $1,000, you can stop lamenting. If you’ve been seeking a very attractive guitar in that price range, you’re going to be doubly pleased with our newest arrival, this 2003 Martin D-16 RGT, which sports a beautifully finished gloss top coupled with satin back and sides. Needless to say, this guitar is constructed of top-notch materials—hybrid x-bracing, solid Sitka Spruce top, straight-grained solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, two-piece back, micarta fingerboard, white body bonding, and a herringbone rosette. And the tone? It’s distinctively Martin—responsive whether strummed aggressively or picked delicately. In all, a highly expressive dreadnought, that sounds great across the tonal spectrum. The guitar is in very good condition and includes its original Martin logo case and paperwork. $1000.
