Many of the early sunburst American Standard Strats we have encountered are characterized by beautiful finishes applied over unusually figured bodies. This example, dating from 1993, is no exception. It seems to emit what could only be described as a “healthy glow.”
With the exception of one ding on the top bout about where your elbow rests that is hardly visible, this beaut is in unusually fine condition. It originally belonged to an acoustic player who related to us that he was selling it because it had only been freed from the confines of its original case half a dozen times since he bought it new back in college.
This instrument sounds very good, with plenty of bass response in addition to the attendant high-end shimmer that the best Strats are known and loved for. There is no fret wear, no belt-buckle rash, and no headstock scars. Really, aside from the aforementioned ding on the upper bout, this is about as clean an 18-year-old Strat as you could wish for.
Includes original case and hangtag (as depicted in photos). SOLD!
