One of Guild’s relatively uncommon rosewood guitars, this excellent-condition D-50 sports a three-piece mahogany and maple neck, a spruce top and an ebony fingerboard. Beyond the clinical construction details, this is a typical Guild—in the sense that it sounds great. The guitar remains buzz-free even under a robust strumming attack but also produces gourmet guitar tone when played fingerstyle. Like most older Guilds, this guitar is substantial without being excessively heavy. Unlike most older Guilds, it sports very little weather checking. The neck is straight, the intonation is spot-on and the instrument is entirely crack-free. The only caveat is that the prior owner installed two (!) strap buttons on the neck joint (he said he used one when standing and the other when sitting). Regardless, the extra button could easily be removed. With original Guild hardshell case. With a professionally installed Fishman pickup and original case. 9/10. SOLD!
