This excellent condition Bigsby-loaded Telecaster is infused with cool. We just installed one of the new, highly acclaimed Mastery bridges, which noticeably improved the guitar’s intonation. (No wonder guitarists in the know like Bill Frisell and Nels Cline swear by these). The original bridge and bridge cover are in the case pocket. This guitar has all the attributes you could wish for. The Bigsby lends a bit of steely, low-end heft that in our opinion balances out the brightness present in some late-1960s Teles. The pickups are very well-matched in both volume and tonal quality, so shifting between smooth, faux-jazz neck pup tones to unmistakable Tele twang is a cinch. The original frets still have plenty of life and the neck is finished in comfortable “C”-shape. Plus, this is the last year Fender offered the original nitro-cellulose finish. Collectively, all of these individual details add up to one mean vintage machine. All original, except for a bit of easily removed burglar alarm tape in the cavity to reduce single-coil hum. With original black Fender logo case. One ding on top and a few of the to-be-expected minor mars, else 8.5/10. A rare beauty (and getting rarer by the day). Sorry, great-sounding vintage Gibson Skylark amp not included.
