A few years back, during the heyday of 7-string grumble and dropped-D rumble, a recrudescence of interest in this line of Swedish instruments seemed pretty unlikely. But, as they say, stranger things have happened. By most accounts, the newly revived company produces high-quality instruments, but why play a reissue when the originals are so darn cool (and still affordable, to boot)?
We like to imagine this guitar was lovingly assembled by a beautiful Swedish blonde. Regardless of whether that was really the case, this is one appealingly streamlined instrument. It's also in great shape, with only a few noteworthy signs of age, namely a ¾"-long strip of binding missing on the treble side of the fretboard on either side of the 11th fret, some very minor signs of finish rub on the body, and typical wear on the top of the headstock. However, the red finish remains beautifully vivid and the frets are still in great shape. Ships in the original semi-hardshell case.
Buy this beauty and be at the forefront of a new wave of vintage Hagstrom love. It may be almost 50 years old, but it still has way more character than those pointy things with the pointless extra string that the kids inexplicably call guitars. $650.00
