According to its label, this instrument originated “in the heart of Bavaria,” which makes perfect sense, since this guitar betrays its sturdy Germanic engineering in every design detail. The neck is multi-laminated, while the top is constructed of what appears to rugged Carpathian spruce. Meanwhile, the beautifully figured stained maple back and sides yield rugged, overtone-rich highs, muscular mids, and burly bass. The tortoiseshell-style pickguard probably doesn’t have any effect on the tone but it sure looks great against the figured top. With a newish chipboard case. Sold!
